The Web Presence Development Process is a lot of fun, but it’s also a lot of work. We follow this process mainly because it works and to make sure that we have a track to run on as we go through the process together. For the most part, this is a sequential process. With that said, however, we realize that no two projects are exactly alike, so we may color outside these lines from time to time.

Discovery:

As it’s name implies, the Discovery stage of our process is where everything begins and we “Discover” and document most of the information we’ll need to deliver your finished package. While each stage of the process is important, the Discovery stage is really what shapes and directs the rest of the process. During this stage, the following is achieved:

  • Initial meeting/phone call/client consultation
  • Completion of the Web Presence Client Questionnaire
  • Establish a project Timeframe
  • Establish a project Budget
  • Determine and agree upon Scope of Work for the project
  • Deliver a formal proposal and Scope of Work
  • Execute the Web Presence Development Contract
  • Collect 50% of the project fee as a deposit

  • Development:

During the Development stage of this process we address the “How to” aspect of establishing your Web Presence. Specifically, we’ll determine what elements technologically must be put in place in order to meet the goals and objectives that were set forth during Discovery. During this stage, the following is achieved:

  • Introduction to the Project Center
  • Information Architecture is developed and agreed upon. (Information Architecture is a fancy term for what Sections, Pages, and Subpages will be required for the site)
  • Client develops and submits section, page, and subpage textual content based upon the agreed to Information Architecture
  • Client provides any specialty graphics, photos, or other specific visual elements they wish to be used for the project
  • Hosting account is set up
  • Content Management System infrastructure is set up
  • Social Networking accounts are set up or Client grants StudioD.tv access to existing accounts

  • Design:

At this point in the process, we begin to “Paint the Canvas” that was created during Discovery and Development. Unless you have purchased a “Custom” package, please understand that we do not provide “Custom” designs. We select a pre-designed template that fits your needs and we alter it’s design to match your agreed upon color palette. During this stage, the following is achieved:

  • Determine and agree upon color pallet. (This is typically dictated in large part by your Logo colors).
  • Apply agreed upon color palette to the template best suited for project. (For some packages this is done on multiple templates).
  • Present Template Concepts to client for approval
  • Client chooses Template Concept
  • Insert and style textual content and graphical elements provided by client during Development stage
  • Point client to development site for review of initial design
  • Collect an additional 25% of the project fee
  • Client requests revisions. (Revision rounds may vary depending upon the package you purchased)
  • Requested revisions are completed
  • Client signs off on final design

  • Deployment:

While some folks look at this stage as the “End” of the process, it’s really the beginning. Once everything is officially launched, it’s time to begin getting some Return on Investment. We always encourage our clients to embrace the concept of Permanent Beta. In other words, maintain a mindset that you will continually enhance and improve your Web Presence. While we are good at what we do, that doesn’t mean that everything is going to be set it and forget it. We’re delivering to you a System that when used as prescribed, should help you grow your business and your brand. During this stage, the following is achieved:

  • Collect remaining 25% of the project fee
  • Launch on the date agreed upon during Discovery
  • Launch occurs
  • Final testing of site functionality occurs
  • Permanent Beta begins
  • Client begins following steps for utilizing System to establish, grow, and maintain Web Presence
